Thanks for Muku Expo 2014 in NY

I went to Mikuexpo2014 & had a lot of fun! Luka's English JBF was amazing.

There were real Miku, real Luka, real Rin, and real Len in NYC! I misunderstood the time of door open and accutual play time, so I went to the theater pretty earlier, then stayed in a line. Result, I ended up taking place in 3rd line to the stage! I got a sign from the CEO of Crypton.

I spent really precious time with my kid at the Miku stage. Life is wonderful!

Long Island City CSA

I went to pick up my vege at Long Island City SCA.
I usually go there by riding my bike and it takes 20min.
I wanted trying some different today, then I went there by walk.
It took me about one hour and I enjoyed walking the last day of summer break.
3 onions, 5 tomatoes, 1 lettuce, 2 peppers, 3 corns, and 1bag of spinach.

Aliens on Bronx Summer Street

I took part in the Bronx Museum’s Boogie On The Boulevard on 17th Sunday August.

One was Mr. Papo Jr. Drawing Art show by my friend, cartoonist Ivan Velez. We enjoyed drawing the fabulous models in super hero’s costume.

Other one was my art project Aliens in New York.

I carried  Irish man, Puerto Rico man, Ukraine woman,  Kenya woman,  Ecuador man,
Mexican man, Dominica Republic woman of Peekaboo-kuns.
I didn’t create art certificates in this time because of short of budget, but it was still fun and many passer-by enjoyed those Peekaboo-sculptures.

Drawing of a super woman model and children. I draw one sketch in 3-5 minutes.
I love this quick moment!

Peekabooing people are enjoying talking each other.
My friend, artist Laura Alavrez becomes Irish man.

August 2014 was 20th Anniversary of Peekaboo-Art!
I have started creating Peekaboo-sculpture and showed them on Harajuku Pedestrian Street  in August 14th Sunday 1994.

I went to LIC Flea at Kaufman Astoria.

I went to LIC FLEA at Kaufman studio today.
I loved this!
Many unique only-one venders opened there. There were foods, arts, and crafts.

The place is between The Moving Image Museum and Kaufman Astoria movie complex theater. Perfect spot to walking around for lovers, friends and families!
(I went to there by bike lonely myself though)
I met some friends there, Roshani, who is an artist holed an art project Move With Us here and there in Queens.

I met Fumi and Anusha, who are talented photographers, too.
I biked around and enjoyed the beautiful summer Sunday.

Summer vegetable on the roof top farm

Is your summer cool or hot?

I went to Brooklyn Grange's vegetable field.
Brooklyn Grange is placed on the roof top of the building in not Brooklyn, but Queens.
Every Saturday during summer time, I buy season's vegetables here. I have some tomatoes, kale, potatoes, parsley, baby green, etc.

There will be a film festival the next weekend and we can watch some very under-ground short films at the center of the vegetable farm.
It is very cool watching sun-set of Manhattan skyline and avant-garde short films on the roof top farm in NY isn't it?

Aliens in Jackson Heights was a Big Success!

First, I want to say thanks very much to my donors, Participants, staffs, Queens Council on the Arts Fund, Jackson Heights Arts Festival, and New York Foundation for the Arts!

It was a big success.
Lots of pass-by people enjoyed taking photos, reading explanation of each Peekaboo-kun sculpture, enjoying being other person(in race, gender, and age), making the art certificates and taking the certificate for free with them.

I set eight of Peekaboo-kun sculptures in circle, looked like they talked each other.
This time I picked Peekaboo-kun representing different occupations and cultural diversity.
A taxi driver, a full time worker at NYPL, a gym trainer, a house wife, a part timer at a small market, a salesman,  a retired senior, a print shop owner.

Name: F. D.B.(young girl)
Original: Bangladesh,
Being: Chinese,
Words: I am old.

Name: C. D. (female)

Original: Buffalo,
Being: Mexican,
Words: strong, happy, father, secure.

What kind of the world do you see through the hole on this Peekaboo-kun? What kind of world do you want to make?

Name: D.G. (female)
Original: PuertoRico,
Being: Indian,
Words: I am an artist too! Art is beautiful. Art is happiness!

Name: L.T. (female)
Original: American & Japanese,
Being: Malaysia,
Words: I like to hug mommy.

”Aliens in New York” is a short-term interactive installation using a group of Peekaboo-kun sculptures. It will promote mutual understandings among people who belong to different ethnicities, religions, races, genders, and other social standings.

Name: S.A., (female)
Original: Bulgaria,
Being: Anita from Chilly,
Words: I love to go home to clean and cook. Ohh man!

Pass-by people read the label on the each Peekaboo-kun, and put their face to the hole to watch the world.

Thanks for helping the project, Savi, Sohui, Collin, Phil, Sora, Sumika, and Zakir!
