I am participated in the Fresh Fruit Festival.

 

The Fresh Fruit Festival is presented by All Out Arts to celebrate the LGBTQ community’s unique perspective, creativity & diversity, and to build links between the LGBTQ artistic communities, be they local or international.

 

HOWL! Happening, 6 East 1st Street, E.Village, New York

Opening Saturday June 21st, 5 – 8 pm. Closing July 20th, 4 – 6 pm. 

Viewing hours Wednesdays-Sundays, 12 – 6 pm

The theme of this group exhibition is “Aging in the LGBT Community” 😮

The fact that I was invited means ppl think I'm part of an aging artist group.

I remembered that just last month I asked a few Nichoume gay town friends via social media for advice about family trusts for parents' assets, inheritance, and notary publics for wills. Yes, that's exactly what I am.

 

I also feel that an LGBT aging-themed art show is a really very NYC art.

I will be at the opening and closing party, and if you mention me the day you'll be coming, I'll be there.

私に声がかかるということは私が高齢者アーティストグループに入ってるってことだ。

つい先月に親の資産の家族信託や相続、遺言の公証役場についてのアドバイスを、数人の２丁目の友人にSNSで相談したのを思い出した。まさにそうだよねぇ、という感じだ。

 

LGBT高齢化テーマのアートショウというのは実にNYCらしいなとも思った。

Show Up 4 PRIDE!

I am pleased to announce to hold “Bloom Rainbow Flowers” as a part of Boogie on the Boulevard street festival, supported by BX Arts Factory.
June 26^th Sunday 12-4pm
1040 Grand Concourse, the Bronx (Bronx Museum)

There will be two LGBTQ character Peekaboo-sculptures, and I will paint Rainbow Flower Pots.


This is another event beside of Aliens in NY,
I will part in “People’s Tent of Tomorrow,” the New York State Pavilion Ideas Competition.

I help participants submit their ideas for the Pavilion in neighborhoods throughout Queens. Hibridos Collective carries the event program.

Rainbow Book Fair Tomorrow!

In 1994, when I began drawing the first chapters of this "Tokyo Love, Rica 'tte Kanji" series, I was 28 years old. My friend Mami-chan, an editor, had suggested it. "Want to try drawing a manga?" She had just started up a lesbian magazine and needed writers.

I realized I liked women around high school, but my romantic interest in girls around me had begun earlier, during middle school. I looked for information about that but, in those days, there wasn't any real information available. Every once in a while there was a gay magazine, which I would stand in a gay bookstore and read

obsessively, but not buy.

There were hardly any lesbian-themed novels or manga, maybe a little fantasy or science fiction, but the endings were always grim, everyone died. However, I did enjoy looking at photos of female models in men's magazines.

When I was little, my friends had taken up drawing manga as a

hobby, and I thought I could do that. 

 So I created the happy story and drew Manga comic which I really wanted to read. I needed courage to open to public. Now, we have many good books about LGBTQ by LGBTQ. Please drop by the Rainbow Book Fairand support the creators who are changing the world better place!
